- Fix: Speaker updates steer the clock instead of overwriting it. Progress reports are rounded to whole seconds and arrive stale. Small differences gently nudge the app clock into agreement; only a real jump (seek, track change, stall) snaps the display instantly.

- Fix: After waking from sleep or hibernation, an overdue update check runs within about 90 seconds, even on laptops awake only a few minutes.
